Paris: Captain Kylian Mbappe has returned to the France squad for the UEFA Nations League quarter-final against Croatia, after being left out in the previous two squads due to fitness concerns and off-field controversies.
Mbappe, who has scored 28 goals for Real Madrid this season, will lead the team once again, as confirmed by coach Didier Deschamps.
Paris Saint-Germain's 19-year-old sensation, Desire Doue, has also earned his first call-up after an impressive run with 17 goal involvements in 23 appearances. Doue's standout performance in PSG’s Champions League win against Liverpool further cemented his selection.
France will face Croatia in Split on March 20, with the second leg in Paris on March 23. The winner will move on to the final four in June.
N'Golo Kante is the most notable absentee due to a minor muscle injury.
